With so many people affected by Hurricane Harvey here in Victoria, one councilwoman has proposed that the city waive late fees on city water bills since many residents may be struggling to recover from the storm. At yesterday's council meeting, Josephine Soliz asked the city to consider the proposal, which may help those residents a little bit. In an article published in the Victoria Advocate, Soliz was quoted as saying "some people haven't gone back to work, some are still without water, some people are still struggling."

Another councilman, Jeff Bauknight asked if the city could also waive fees for part of August, as well.

City officials said the proposal would be drawn up and voted on on October 3rd.
