Wiz Khalifa’s ‘See You Again’ Video Feat. Charlie Puth Pays Tribute to Paul Walker
Wiz Khalifa's new video for "See You Again" featuring Charlie Puth remembers the late Paul Walker's role in the Fast and Furious franchise.
The video, filmed against the stunning backdrop of the Los Angeles skyline, shows Wiz and Charlie rapping and singing, respectively, alongside some seriously sporty cars. It's a subtle way to tie in the song with Furious 7.
By far, the most touching parts are the clips of Paul from various Fast and Furious movies interspersed throughout the video. It's an emotional, yet fitting, way to commemorate the actor's life and his role in the franchise, which began in 2001. Paul tragically died in a car accident in November 2013.
Back in March, Charlie spoke with PopCrush about recording "See You Again."
"[With] Wiz we had blank verses — meaning me on the chorus and it was just instrumental — and we needed a rapper to fill in those spaces, and he just put so much soul into that record," he explained. "... He’s so busy, but now I’ve gotten to know him really, really well and he’s a great guy. Really, really talented and has a good ear for melodic stuff, as does Meghan [Trainor]. So Wiz would send in bits and pieces of it; we would piece it together. He made it really easy, honestly. He just sent it and we dropped it in and it sounded great. That’s how I knew that he was the right person for the record."
