According to officials at Bootfest you won’t want to miss the second annual Bootfest to be held on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6 on De Leon Plaza in downtown Victoria. FREE admission! FREE Entertainment

Enjoy a variety of free live music from 13 different bands and entertainers during Bootfest, including some favorite local and regional acts, rising Texas talent and Nashville star Easton Corbin. Live music starts on the Shiner Bock Stage Two at 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon with the Guadulupe Surfers and continues with the Scott Taylor Band. At 7:30 p.m. on the Coors Light Main Stage, No Justice will open for Stoney LaRue who is scheduled to play at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday’s line-up on Shiner Bock Stage Two kicks off at 10 a.m. with Crossroads followed by Whiskey Sin, Trevor Cole Band, Andrea Maria & the Magnolia Band, Dr. Yahagi & the Mended Hearts and Clay Crockett & the Shotgun Riders. Then the entertainment action will move to the Coors Light Main Stage for Black Dutch Sioux, Bart Crow and Easton Corbin. You won’t want to miss any of these talented musical groups!

FREE Kids Corral

Our Caterpillar Kids Corral will be filled with lots of neat activities for children of all ages such as two rock walls, two bungee jumps, slides, bounce house, obstacle course, water ball, velcro wall, jousting and a mechanical bull. In addition the Invista Stage Three will feature a DJ throughout the festival as well as gymnastics and dance performances, a presentation by the Texas Zoo and even kid’s karaoke.

Art Show & Competition

Friday, September 28th is the deadline to enter our Texana Art Show & Competition. It’s free to enter and you’ll have a chance to win one of two cash prizes. Plus you’ll have a chance to demonstrate your artistic talent and sell your art at Bootfest on Saturday. Please email Melinda Rogers at mrogers@victoriatx.org to learn more.

Boot Makers

Bootfest wouldn’t be complete without talented boot makers on hand, ready to help you design a pair (or two) of custom made boots. Plan to stop by the three boot makers who will be set up on De Leon Plaza on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Henry Carmargo of Mercerdes, Texas, will be back with us again this year and joining him will be Bob’s Leather Shop, Austwell, Texas, and Don’s Custom Boots & Shoe Repair of Victoria. Don’s Custom Boots will also be offering a boot shine service.

Washer Tournament

Help us launch our inaugural Bootfest Washer Tournament, another FREE Bootfest event that will be held on Saturday morning. Join in the fun and win a prize if your team comes in first or second place. Please email Joel Novosad at jnovosad@victoriatx.org to register today.

 

Volunteers

For people who like to stay busy, volunteering at Bootfest is the perfect blend of activities. You can even volunteer for awhile in one area, take a break and volunteer again in a different festival area. Choose to help at the beer booths, ticket booths, water booth, Kids Corral, volunteer hospitality or t-shirt/koozie sales booth. You’ll have so much fun, you won’t realize you’re working! Park & Ride

What’s the easiest way to get to Bootfest? Park and ride from these two locations on Saturday from 10 a.m. until Midnight and save your energy for having fun at the festival, not looking for a parking spot!

-Pattie Dodson Health Center parking lot, 2805 N. Navarro

-Riverside Park Old Little League Field parking lot(Turn on Magnolia from U.S. Hwy 87/Main St. which becomes McCright.)

Downtown Street Closings Beginning the Evening of Thursday, Oct. 4

The City of Victoria will block several streets in downtown Victoria beginning the evening of Thursday, Oct. 4, in preparation for BOOTFEST. Beginning at 10 pm that evening, City crews will place barricades at the following streets:

- Main (From Goodwin to Santa Rosa) *parking garage entrance will remain open and left (east) turn-only permitted onto Goodwin*

- Bridge (From Goodwin to Santa Rosa)

- Glass (From Goodwin to Constitution)

- Goodwin ( From Glass to Liberty)

- Forrest (From Moody to Liberty)

- Constitution (From Moody to Liberty)

Downtown business owners and employees are asked to park outside of the barricaded areas immediately before and during Bootfest (Thursday, Oct. 4 -Saturday, Oct. 6). Employees who work at One O’Connor Plaza and at First Victoria Bank will be able to park “as usual” in the parking garages. Downtown businesses will have limited accessibility via side streets surrounding the blocked areas.

The streets will remain blocked throughout the day on Friday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6. Any downtown business expecting scheduled deliveries on Thursday, Oct. 4 or Friday, October 5 should contact the City of Victoria Communications Office at 485-3110 no later than Oct. 3 to ensure that deliveries can be planned for and accommodated during this period.
