Victoria - Rainfall totals over the weekend show the forecast models were pretty accurate in predicting thunderstorm intensity ahead of Friday and Saturday's weather system.

 

Current Watches and Warnings for the Crossroads Area

The National Weather Service has issued a River Flood Warning for the Guadalupe River at Victoria, a Coastal Flood Advisory, Rip Current Risk, and for a short time this morning, we had a Small Craft Advisory out in the Gulf of Mexico.

Weekend Rainfall Totals

Data from weather observers at Victoria Regional Airport measured what looks to be between 7 and 8 inches of rainfall over the April 30th to May 2 time frame. Their observations include nearly 2.5 inches on April 30th, Nearly 4 inches on May 1st, and nearly another inch of rain fell around 5 p.m. on Saturday evening.

Local Flooding in the Area

The National Weather Service reports some areas of Riverside Park in Victoria to be inaccessible thanks to the high water. This includes Fox's Bend in Riverside Park and the Riverside boat ramp parking is also unavailable due to standing water. Additional information continues to be reported. River Flood Warning for the Guadalupe at Victoria

The River Flood Warning continues for the Guadalupe River until Wednesday evening. The flood stage for the river is 21.0 feet. The river is expected to rise above this stage by this evening and crest around 24.5 feet by Tuesday night. The Guadalupe is expected to fall back below 21.0 feet by Wednesday evening. Minor lowland flooding is expected during this time with water potentially flowing over River Road. Do not attempt to drive-thru water covered roadways. Turn around and don't drown.

Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected in the area overnight tonight with a 50% chance for additional showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday.
