Beyoncé and Jay-Z Named Highest-Paid Couple In Music By Forbes Magazine
Beyoncé and her media mogul husband Jay-Z can add another accolade to their already impressive resumes; the pair has been named the highest-paid couple in music by Forbes magazine. The duo is the second overall highest-paid celebrity couple in the world behind New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen.
According to Forbes, between May 2010 and May 2011, “Sasha Fierce” and “Hov” made a combined $72 million. Besides top-selling albums, Beyoncé fronts her own fashion line Deréon and endorsement deals with DirectTV, General Mills and L’Oreal.
Jay-Z, also named the Hip-Hop Cash King by the magazine, raked in the moolah thanks to a 10-year, $150 million dollar deal with Live Nation, his 40/40 restaurant chain and partial ownerships of the New Jersey Nets basketball team and the ad firm Translation. No wonder they are music’s highest-paid couple!
Beyoncé continues to earn bank. Her “4 Intimate Nights with Beyoncé” show at New York’s Roseland Ballroom was a sell out. Among those in attendance were stars such as Usher, Kelly Rowland, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Hudson.
