3 of the Worst Cities for Drivers in the US are Right Here in TX
Texas is cruising into humiliation with Dallas and Fort Worth ranking among the top 10 for the nation's worst drivers, according to Forbes Advisor.
Dallas snagged the No. 6 spot, while Fort Worth wasn't far behind at No. 9. The study, which calculates the number of fatal accidents, including those involving drunk, distracted, or speeding drivers per 100,000 residents, paints a grim picture of driving in the Lone Star State.
DALLAS #6 WORST DRIVING IN THE COUNTRY
Dallas distinguished itself with a concerning 6.25 fatal drunk driving incidents per 100,000 residents, landing it just behind Kansas City in the rankings. The city's notable stats include:
- Third highest for fatal crashes involving drunk driving.
- Fourth for speed-related fatal crashes.
- Seventh in both total fatal crashes and fatalities.
FORT WORTH #9 WORST IN THE COUNTRY
Fort Worth, at ninth, revealed its most significant issue with drunk driving, having the fifth highest rate of such incidents in the country. The city also faces challenges with distracted driving and speeding.
Topping the list is Albuquerque, NM, with Memphis, TN, and Detroit, MI, following. Texas cities appear five times in the top 25, highlighting a statewide issue with road safety. San Antonio, El Paso, Houston, and Austin also make the list, underscoring the urgency for Texas to address its hazardous driving behaviors.
