Her name was submitted by Leslie Preslar.   I have a really difficult time visiting my grandma because I know that she doesn’t usually recognize me. Tonight, however, I ventured down to see her with my mom just because I needed and wanted to. Of course as I hugged her, she stared at me with a lost look and stated, “You’ll have to tell me your name again as I can’t quite place who you are.” I forced the tears back with a smile and said my name. Then I sat back and watched the routine she and my mom have every single night…my mom doing her laundry, drawing her a bath, giving her a bath, giving her all of her meds, making sure she brushed her teeth, cleaning up her dirty dishes, dressing her, making sure she finished her breathing treatment, turning on her bedtime music, tucking her in, making sure all doors were locked, and telling her, “Goodnight, mom. I love you. “All of which, grandma didn’t make too easy on mom as mom was helping her. I saw my grandma yell at my mom and argue about taking a bath, she threw her glass down, and she blew up at her over silly things. I sat there in shock. I know it’s the disease. I know it’s not my grandma, and it breaks every piece of my heart. Again, I held back the tears. I have no earthly idea how my mom does all of this every single night and tons more during the day. I joked with my mom by reminding her that I am a teacher….that after 15 years already, my patience is wearing thin…that I may not have much more when I’m older. I told her she must promise me to not be like that to me when she gets up there. I know, though, that no matter what, I will be doing all of the above for my mom as well, and every night I will tell her, “Goodnight, mom. I love you.” Just like in the book “I’ll Love You Forever” the roles get reversed as life moves on. I saw that tonight with my own two eyes, and it’s something I will always cherish. God bless angels here on earth

Her name was submitted by her husband Jason Brown.  The mother I am nominating has many superpowers. Her hero name is Iron Woman.. As Iron Woman she gets up at 4:45am every morning to run 4-5 miles, she then returns by 6 to get herself ready by 7am, then she turns on her time effiency powers to her 8 year old son who loves to take his sweet time eating breakfast and getting dressed for school, she gets him out the door by 7:30(never been tardy in 3 years) then she finishes getting ready for work. Iron Woman works tirelessly at DC realty as a property manager/Realtor. Iron Woman gets off of work to get her son to either baseball, football or basketball practice. Jennifer Aka Iron Woman is also Super Sports Mom.. She always volunteers to be the team mom, never misses a game and supports her sons team while her husband coaches. Iron Woman does not take weekends off, she cooks, cleans, laundry and ironing all weekend every weekend. Fin ally Iron Woman’s greatest power has been the power to make things disappear. Jennifer has lost over 100 pounds this past year all while being Iron Woman, who is a great mother and wife to her family. She so deserves this!

Her name was submitted by Travis Law her son.  My Mom does not have super powers, she has a shield (badge) and wears an invisible cape! My Mom AKA Cop Mom is the mother to all 799 students at Cade Middle School. She has the power to believe in children, empower them and be a positive female role model. My Mom works hard every day and then comes home, takes off her shield and becomes Super Mom to my two little sisters and myself. She makes sure we have a good family meal every night even when she has to work late. My Mom wakes up before everyone in the morning to make us all breakfast and set the table. She has taught me to be strong, to celebrate my life and be grateful for what I have. Most of all my Mom has shown me what it takes to be brave! She has been in law enforcement since 2004 and wears her badge proudly. I was only 3 years old when I saw her put on her real hero suit for the first time. She has always put every else first in her life. She doesn’t complain often even when I can see that she is tired, stressed out or sick. My Mom doesn’t ask for much except us eating at the table together for meals and me allowing her to tuck me in bed at night even though I am 13 now. My Mom would never say she deserves anything in life she will only tell you she is blessed for what she has.

We want to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.
