Little kids often associate someone wearing a tie as meaning you are important.

It's an assumption even adults often make when we see someone in a tie, but for kindergarten students at Moses Menger Elementary School in Corpus Christi, wearing a tie to school really is a big deal, especially because it denotes to your classmates that you are in "the club."

It's the 'Guys In Ties' Club and recently the kindergarten students who joined, all wore ties to school AND held their very first meeting.

So, Why a Guys In Tie Club?

Reggie Perez, a first-grade teacher at Menger Elementary, offers in an interview with CC's News 3 that, "If they see someone wearing a tie, they automatically think they're important and by wearing a tie themselves, they may feel important and that transfers itself to the way they behave, the way they carry themselves, more self-esteem and all those attributes that we look for in strong, young men."

Have you yourself ever dressed up and just naturally felt more confident? But the club is much more than just the power of dressing for the occasion. The Guys in Ties Club also invites influential and inspiring speakers to join them and speak as guests at their meetings.

Here is the Youtube video provided by News3. Don't these guys look super cute!!!

We're hoping other Texas schools, follow "suit."

Supporters of the new program hope that the boys' success as club members and the success of the club itself will encourge other schools in Texas to follow suit. News3 offers that Perez said he would like the program to be adopted by as many schools as possible and has hopes that it goes national, but his main goal is to raise a new generation of gentlemen.
