The city of Victoria saw about 600 Texans gather in support of the Black Lives Matter protest back on June 7th and the organizers are looking to take that momentum up the road to the city of Cuero.

The Victoria Advocate reports that protest will take place this Sunday evening at Municipal Park. Cuero Municipal Park is located off of Leonard Roy Harmon Drive. While protestors in Victoria marched down Navarro after gathering, this protest will remain stationary at the park and will begin on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm.

Lisa Ruiz, who also organized the Victoria protest has organized this event after meeting with the Cuero city manager, Police Chief, the Parks and Rec Department, and Police Captain Steven Ellis for approval and planning of the event.

Ruiz told the Advocate that COVID-19 was the biggest concern in planning the protest.
