DreamVision Announces 5,000-Acre Theme Park in Fort Worth
Multi-media company DreamVision has announced plans to open a new $3.5 billion theme park in the Fort Worth area by 2020.
Rick Silanskas, DreamVision's chief executive officer, introduced the project today during an online streaming presentation. Called "DreamVision Mountain, Dreamscape, Texas", the 5,000 acre park has not announced a definitive location in the Forth Worth area, but more details are expected to be released soon. The year-round park will center on a winter theme, surrounding a snow-capped mountain. Inspired by Walt Disney, Silanskas has worked with former Walt Disney Co. employees in bringing his ideas to reality.
Formerly headquartered in Florida, DreamVision's new home of northern Texas poses challenges in creating a winter-themed park. Malcolm Clulow, an expert on producing indoor snow, likened the difficulty of the project to making it snow in Dubai in the summer.
Apart from the winter mountain, the park will feature a performing arts center, a version of New York City and Hollywood, and a unique old western experience. DreamVision has scheduled another announcement for Wednesday, this one expected to announce plans for another theme park in Alabama.
