What a concept! Get rewarded for eating Mexican food! Starting May 5, the City of Victoria Convention & Visitors Bureau (Explore Victoria Texas) will invite local diners and tourists to experience Victoria’s Mexican food and margarita options through the new “Tacos & Margs!” mobile passport.

“We hope that through this promotion, residents and visitors can explore the fantastic Tex-Mex food and drinks Victoria has to offer and our participating restaurants will see increased foot traffic and expose their businesses to new customers,” said CVB Director Joel Novosad. “We cannot wait to launch this new, exciting trail!”

Residents and visitors can sign up for the free mobile passport at www.explorevictoriatexas.com starting May 5.

Participants who check in to participating restaurants with the “Tacos & Margs!” mobile pass will earn points that are redeemable for “Tacos & Margs!” merchandise. They will also be entered into a drawing for a quarterly prize.

Each check-in earns an entry for the drawing, so residents should visit all participating restaurants for the best chance to win. Winners will be contacted by City staff.

The “Tacos & Margs!” pass is powered by Bandwango, the same platform that the CVB uses for “Yule Love Shopping Victoria!” The CVB is making plans to use the platform for special promotions during Victoria’s bicentennial celebration next year.
