Gov. Abbott Announces Texas Schools To Remain Closed Until At Least May 4
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has extended his disaster declaration to limit human contact to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The executive order also means schools are closed until at least May 4.
Two weeks ago, Abbott issued an order that put into law strict social distancing restrictions that had been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.
They included:
- Bans on groups larger than 10 people
- All schools and gyms closed
- Bars and restaurants suspend in-house service
- Hospital and nursing home visits suspended unless providing care
That order was set to expire this Friday, April 3 at 11:59 p.m
