Two Houston food influencers were mid-bite when an SUV came smashing through the glass at CuVee’s Culinary Creations and slammed into their booth.

Houston food creators Nina Santiago and Patrick Blackwood were filming at CuVee’s Culinary Creations in Houston, Texas, when a black SUV burst into the side of the restaurant and slammed into their booth. The whole thing was caught on camera, and it was as terrifying as it sounds.

The clip shows the window exploding, plates flipping, and the pair sliding out of the booth as glass rains down. Both were taken to the hospital with cuts and needed stitches; they later posted updates showing bandaged hands and gashes, but a lot of relief.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the driver thought the vehicle was in park, but when she lifted her foot off the brake, the SUV went straight into the dining area of the restaurant.

Santiago's words pretty much nail it: “I have glass all over my body.” Later, she posted, “I’m sore and tight and all banged up but not dead.”

The pair both said they're glad to be alive.

Santiago and Blackwood continued filming the aftermath. From the ambulance ride to waiting to get stitches, giving outsiders a look inside one of the most traumatizing events in their lives. The pair even returned to the restaurant for a bite to eat. "We came back just to make sure to have peace of mind, and also because the food is actually amazing," Santiago said.
