Sick Texas Man Calls Police and Admits to Double Murder Suicide
A mother and daughter were tragically killed by a 60-year-old man who tipped off police before killing himself.
60-year-old Kerry Carter made an eerie phone call letting officials know that he had just killed two people and would be committing suicide next. The Hutto Police Department immediately responded to where Carter was at.
When the officers arrived at the residence they walked into a grim scene. Upon approaching the home they heard a single gunshot. As they cautiously made entry inside they discovered Carter as well as, 58 year old Deffenia Lynch and her daughter, 41-year-old Iosha Shaw, all three dead.
Officers Make More Discoveries
As officers continued to search the home they discovered a smoke-filled vehicle enclosed in the garage. According to the Hutto Police Department, both the home and vehicle had accelerants in them.
Chief Jeffrey Yarbrough said in a statement, "This is a devastating situation, and we understand the impact it has on our community," he continued, “Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and the entire community affected by this tragedy. Incidents like this are extremely rare in Hutto, but when they do happen, we come together to support one another and help those impacted through these difficult times.”
Family Begins to Process Their Grief
Aubri Taylor, a family member of the mother and daughter victims, expressed their grief online, “Please keep my Shaw family in your thoughts and prayers we lost 2 sweet souls yesterday; a mother Daphney Lynch & her daughter Iosha Shaw."
