Greg Fleniken started winding down for the night. After changing into his pajamas, he cranked down the a/c, as his wife would admit, he always slept in ice-cold temperatures. After slipping into bed he set up a folded towel next to him with an ashtray on top.

THE NEXT MORNING

He snacked on a candy bar while he watched tv then started to smoke his cigarette. The next morning his wife was a little unnerved because she had not received her regular morning call, nor did he answer when she tried calling him herself.

Alarmed, she sprung into action and got a hold of his coworkers, who she asked to do a wellness check on her husband. They agreed and headed to the hotel.

The coworkers went up to room 348 and opened the door. To their surprise, they found Greg, dead on the floor.

His body was positioned as if he had fallen on his knees and landed on his face. There was still a cigarette in his fingers that had been burned down to the butt. Strangely after police began investigating, they noticed his wallet was full of cash, and nothing was taken.

NO FOUL PLAY

There was no sign of foul play so, at first glance, it would seem as if he died of a heart attack. However, an autopsy turned the case upside down. From the outside, Greg's body looked fine. There were no bruises, scratches, or any type of significant damage, besides a small abrasion on his face where he fell on his face and another small abrasion on his crotch.

INTERNAL EVIDENCE REVEALS SURPRISING TRUTH

The inside of Greg's body told another story. He had broken bones, food from his intestines had exploded out, internal organs were lacerated, and there was a hole in his heart; it was as if he had me completely crushed.

Everyone was stunned and confused. The lack of external injuries made the case puzzling. At this point, this turned the case into a homicide.

BACK TRACKING AT THE CRIME SCENE

After a few months of getting nowhere, the investigators went back to the crime scene and started looking in different places. They looked around the hotel room next to Greg's and that's when they noticed a critical detail that was missed. There was a tiny area that had a small amount of patchwork in the wall that was shared with Greg.

THE TOOTHPASTE DETAIL

A crime scene investigation unit removed that patch and noticed there was toothpaste shoved inside a tiny hole on the wall. Upon further investigation, the hole was projected perfectly where Greg would have been sitting on the bed.

GETTING DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF IT

It turns out, 2 electricians were staying next door and had previously been interviewed and ruled out. The two men were messing around and dropped a gun that fired when it hit the floor.

The two men listened for any noise in the room next to them so they concluded no one was injured in the room next to them. One man was found guilty and charged with manslaughter.
