These Are The Best Places To See The Solar Eclipse In Texas

Solar eclipses aren't something that come around very often, so when they do, we have to go hunting for the best place to see them in Texas. Being such a big state, these eclipses don't necessarily get to be fully seen by everyone in the state.

The next solar eclipse is set to take place on April 8, and the Texas Panhandle will not be the best place to see the eclipse. Sure, you may see a touch of it, but if you want to get the full effect of it, better pack up your car and plan a mini road trip.

Your destination will be the beautiful Hill Country of Texas, where the solar eclipse will be on full display. Now I know Austin is part of the Hill Country, but you won't be able to see the eclipse in totality there. You'll have to travel to some smaller cities outside of Austin to get that.

If you're looking for places where there's more to do than just see the eclipse, you'll want to be in cities like Temple, Waco, Irving, or Tyler. Plenty to do in all of those cities before and after the eclipse.

Now, if it's a more remote area you're looking for where there isn't a whole lot around, heading into cities such as Bandera, Boerne, or Kerrville will give you some incredible locations to see the eclipse.

Unfortunately, Amarillo and the panhandle is simply not the place to catch this eclipse in its full beauty, and it's not very often we get to see full eclipses like this. Take advantage of the fact that we have plenty of places somewhat nearby that you can see it and plan a little family trip around it! I promise, your kids won't be the only ones missing school for it.
