Every year El Paso, Texas is grateful to bring the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game inside the Sun Bowl Stadium. And we're extremely grateful for CBS Sports bringing the coverage of the game to the world every year since they started doing in 1968. They do a fantastic job of showing off El Paso in their opening package before the games. The 90th annual Sun Bowl game between Notre Dame & Oregon on December 29th was no exception.

The shots of the sun & the Stadium at UTEP were great.

But there was one small mistake they made when putting the opening together, one error that doesn't define the geography of El Paso..

CBS Sports thinks El Paso & Texas has saguaro cactuses...we don't

CBS Sports included an image of a saguaro cactus but...El Paso doesn't have any saguaros in our desert landscape ANYWHERE. In the Chihuahuan Desert where we reside, you'll find Prickly Pear, and Ocotillos a plenty.

THESE are what our cactuses look like:

If you want to find saguaro cactus, just travel to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona.

Now of course if you've never been to El Paso, Texas you wouldn't have noticed. But anyone who's been to El Paso or even traveled through here (or Arizona), would certainly have noticed this little faux pas that CBS Sports has made.

If CBS Sports REALLY wants to show the world what El Paso is known for, just look up at the mountains and you'll see...a Star.

Now THAT is something I'd love to see on the next television coverage for the Sun Bowl game.

So next time you're in town CBS Sports, if you want a shot of a cactus for your broadcast, or if you want some brilliant shots of the most iconic El Paso landmark, we've got you covered!
