Local Warming Center Needing Donations To Help Keep Everyone Warm

The warming center will open its doors this week to help keep those without shelter stay warm in unsafe freezing weather. Temperatures will begin dropping drastically on Thursday in Victoria County, so it is crucial to have a safe space overnight for those who have nowhere to go.

VICTORIA WARMING CENTER OPENING

The warming center will be located at C3 Victory. Starting Thursday, December 22 through Monday, December 26th. Every night doors will open at 5 pm and stay open until 8 am.

ITEMS NEEDED

The warming center is currently looking for donations to help keep those who are seeking shelter comfortable and warm. Below is a list of items needed.

• Blankets
• Sleeping Bags
• Coats
• Beanies
• Gloves
• Socks
• Handwarmers
• Scarves

If you have any items you would like to donate, you can drop them off at Mid-Coast Family Services, located at 2010 N Navarro Suite A.

HOW TO STAY PREPARED FOR FREEZING TEMPERATURES

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing this week. According to weather.gov, Thursday night will drop below freezing in the Crossroads. Thursday night will be one of the coldest nights of the week, with a low of around 19 degrees.
