I really wanted to name this article, " Happy Hippy Day Trippy" because everything about this new day trip idea makes me happy, especially the fields of sunflowers!

As a self-proclaimed happy hippy, I can't imagine a more fun day trip for photos, family, and fun than the newest day trip making its way up from the earth than at San Antonio's Traders Village 'Sunflower Field.'

Mammoth sunflower seeds were planted on ten acres and now they are ready to bloom in May at SA's Trader's Village ( which is 100 acres!) for a whole new level of family fun.

The Sunflower Field at Trader's Village which will feature a maze and a walking path to explore the sunflower field and take lots and lots of photos! They will also have a professional photographer there to take family photos that you can have printed right there and take home with you.

The field opens May 1st and will only be open the month of May so make plans now!

The sunflower field alone makes the day trip worth it for me, but there is so much more at Trader's Village than just the sunflower field! Traders Village in San Antonio, located at 9333 Southwest Loop 410 is a swap meet, treasure hunt, shopping complex, county fair, and festival attraction all rolled into one! It's a big ol' FLEA MARKET minus the fleas! There are even high-flying midway rides, like the towering, all-new Star Dancer where riders soar 80 feet into the air as well as an Allan Herschell-designed antique carousel and much more!

You can spend an entire day there and never see the same thing twice!

In fact, their website boasts, "San Antonio's Traders Village features over 1,000 vendors, selling virtually anything and everything from tires to turkey legs! Check out what you can buy, trade or barter for right here.

Open on the weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, with vendor gates opening at 7 am, parking is $5.00, and tickets for the sunflower fields starting at $7.00 with kids under 2 free. Of course, there will be sunflowers to buy there too!

Tires, turkey legs, fun sundries, and sunflowers all in one place?

This happy hippy is soooo there!

In fact, a perfect day trip to San Antonio would also include visiting the newest land bridge, the Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge just opening in San Antonio this week! Click the button below to read all about it!
