Managers Get Into Wild Brawl During Alaska Baseball League Game
Well, here's something you don't see too often.
Two managers -- yes, managers -- got into a brawl during a recent Alaska Baseball League game.
Peninsula Oilers head coach Kevin Griffin and Anchorage Bucs head coach Mike Grahovac went at it in the top of the 14th inning of their game on Wednesday in the latest installment of managers behaving badly.
Trouble started when Grahovac was tossed from the game for arguing balls and strikes. As he was leaving the field, he and Griffin started arguing, which soon gave way to a full-on donnybrook. The benches cleared, with players from both sides managing to keep their cool while separating the skippers. It's unclear if Griffin was also ejected from the game.
The fight seemed to light a fire under the Oilers -- they went on to score six runs and won the game, 9-3.
Moral of the story: despite what you've been told, fighting can be good. That, and they play baseball in Alaska. Who knew?
