Meet Officer David Brogger
KIXS 108 and RCR Homes, “Your Crossroads Builder”, would like to take a moment to say Thank You to all the Heroes Behind the Badge. We want to say Thank You to all the police officers, sheriff’s deputies, corrections officers, detectives, parole officers, probation officers, SWAT team members, traffic cops, police supervisors, law enforcement managers, fire fighters, EMS personnel and police chiefs.
This week we would like to honor Officer David Brogger. David has been in law enforcement for 11 years. As a child he enjoyed camping with his family at Garner State Park. He married his beautiful bride Ann and had 2 girls named Eve and Lila. With having two girls he doesn't get much time to listen to his music since the girls have him playing Disney Radio. He has 2 pets Gypsy the dog and Wally the cat. His favorite place to eat in Victoria locally is Tokyo Grill. The one thing Officer Brogger wants the community to know is that law enforcement is here to help people who need help. Law enforcement goal is to make our community a safe place to live.
Sherri Stubblefield nominated Officer Brogger. Here is what she told us:
SPO David Brogger is currently in the position of Recruiter for Victoria Police Dept. His primary job function is to recruit both new and experienced/licensed peace officers to come and join our VPD family. SPO Brogger has worked with VPD for over 10 years. He has served on Patrol-where he eventually became a Field Training Officer, he later became a member of the Traffic Safety Unit, and is now in the position of Recruiter as well as currently being a Negotiator with VPD SWAT Team. SPO Brogger is a great officer as well as an amazing individual. He inspires people to reach for their dreams of working in law enforcement and his natural ability to motivate is unparalleled. He travels all over South Texas to various academies/colleges to meet new potential employees of VPD. I myself (Police Clerk) was recruited by SPO Brogger at a job fair held by Victoria College. His warm smile and calming demeanor immediately made me want to become a member of this organization. I, since having been here in Training Unit this last year (SPO Brogger's office is in this unit), have been able to further see the impact he has on people. He is very well respected by not only the new employees, but the veterans in the VPD as well. This was further proven by his receipt of Officer of the Year award in 2014.He is also a big-time family man. He's a proud husband to wife Ann (whom he affectionately refers to as his "bride") and father to two girls and is quick to pull out his phone and show you the latest of what one or both of his girl's have done. SPO Brogger is a great example of what an officer should be and for that I believe he should be recognized.
If you know of someone who deserves to be honored please fill out the brief questionnaire below. Each week our station will be honoring a law enforcement person on air. Heroes Behind the badge is brought to you by KIXS 108 and RCR Homes Your crossroads builder.
