‘Men In Black 3′ Saves The Universe One Ice Cream Flavor At A Time
Have you ever wondered what Tommy Lee Jones tastes like? Baskin-Robbins wants to help you find out … sort of.
The ice cream giant partners with Sony Pictures this summer for a series of original dessert flavors inspired by ‘Men In Black 3,’ which opens in theaters on May 25. The new flavors reached local Baskin-Robbins stores on May 1, giving courageous patrons the opportunity to sample Pink Surprise Cake (reportedly named after a scene from the upcoming sequel) or the Triple Mocha Cappuccino Blast beverage.
Tell me this doesn’t sound good. Pink Surprise, according to a company release, boasts a “triple layer ice cream cake made of Oreo Cookies ‘n Cream ice cream sandwiched between two layers of Devil’s Food Cake and topped with pink frosting roses.” And you don’t even have to do a decent Jones impersonation to earn yourself one!
In addition to the new flavors, Baskin-Robbins revealed it will bring back a classic Lunar Cheesecake flavor, which the ice-cream vendor originally released in 1969 to commemorate the first spaceflight to land on the moon.
Sadly, no flavors patterned after Agents J (Will Smith) or K (Jones). Perhaps those are best left to one’s imaginations. ‘Men In Black 3’ opens everywhere Memorial Day weekend.
