Mexican Restaurants We Miss in Victoria
Today we just found out Ventura's is expanding and opening up a second location. It's great to see this local family-owned business continue to expand from humble beginnings on Water St. While Ventura's continues to expand, other fantastic Mexican restaurants have come and gone from Victoria. I thought it would be fun to remember some great Mexican food restaurants that I enjoyed while growing up. What Mexican restaurant brings back memories for you? Please add your response on the Facebook comments of this status.
I NEED HELP REMEMBERING THIS ONE:
I was a young child and remember going to eat at a little restaurant near Our Lady of Sorrows church. My mom says it was called Aleman's back in the day. However, I feel like it was called something else in the late '80s. Can anyone help on this one?
DEL LAGO MEXICAN RESTAURANT:
This was some fantastic Mexican food and the perfect place to eat after a fun night of dancing. Originally located at the corner of Navarro and Ash St. I remember getting that Del Lago Special.
SIESTA AND EL TORO MEXICAN RESTAURANTS:
Proudly owned by the Trevino family, these two restaurants became icons in Victoria. I personally rated El Toro just a little better than Siesta. However, they were both amazing. Just to have the McAll's enchiladas just one more time.
SPANISH VILLAGE:
Located between Navarro and Laurent on Red River. So many memories of having dinner with my mom and grandma here.
PICO DE GALLO:
You would wait in the line that snaked on to Rio Grande. The PICO special was on another level. This location is now Mi Casita.
GUERRA'S:
Another taco hotspot from back in the day. If you went to Stroman this was a very convenient option for breakfast tacos.
