Say goodbye to Minute Maid Park—Houston’s iconic ballpark is getting a new name. Starting January 2025, it will be known as Daikin Park, marking the end of a 22-year era filled with unforgettable baseball moments.

The Astros announced the 15-year naming rights deal with Daikin Industries, a Japanese air conditioning giant and the world’s largest in the industry. This change marks the fourth name for the downtown stadium, which opened in 1999 as Enron Field before a brief stint as Astros Field in 2002, then becoming Minute Maid Park later that year.

HISTORIC MLB MOMENTS UNDER THE MINUTE MADE NAME

Under the Minute Maid name, the park hosted five World Series, the 2004 All-Star Game, and countless historic moments like Jose Altuve’s pennant-winning homer in 2019 and Yordan Alvarez’s clutch blast in the 2022 World Series.

While Minute Maid will remain a team sponsor until 2029, the decision to move on was mutual, aligning with the Astros’ new era both on and off the field. Owner Jim Crane emphasized shared values with Daikin, a company that established a major plant in Texas in 2017.

As we brace for the rebranding to Daikin Park, it’s time to savor the memories made at the Juice Box and look forward to new moments in what’s sure to be a cooler, air-conditioned chapter of Houston baseball.
