Last year's summer activities were non-existent because of the pandemic. Now we have some awesome activities for High School Students and Adults  Registration will open April 5 for the City of Victoria Parks & Recreation’s summer high school and adult volleyball leagues and April 12 for the varsity and junior varsity high school softball leagues.

To register or to learn more about each league, visit www.victoriatx.gov/registration or call Parks & Recreation at 361-485-3200. Schedules will be announced after registration closes for each league.

4x4 volleyball will be played Thursdays starting May 20. Volleyball includes men’s, women’s, coed, and high school girls’ leagues. The registration deadline is May 7, and the late registration deadline is May 12.

High school softball will be played Tuesdays starting June 1. The early registration deadline is May 21, and the late registration deadline is May 26. Each team must pay a $50 umpire fee in cash at the plate before each game. Coaches must pass a background check.

Parks & Recreation staff will wear masks, and players and spectators are encouraged to wear facial coverings and practice social distancing. Hand sanitizer will be available. Volleyballs will be disinfected between matches. Players will be asked not to give handshakes or high fives.

Parks & Recreation will also host summer adult softball and kickball leagues. Registration for these leagues is expected to open in May.

Just in case you need it, here is the Good Friday city schedule.

All nonemergency offices at the City of Victoria will close April 2 in observance of Good Friday.

The Victoria Public Library will be closed Friday and Saturday.

The compost site and the landfill will be open.

Scheduled automated garbage, curbside recycling, yard waste and/or tree limbs will be collected Friday.

Riverside Golf Course will be open.
