A distressed call came into the San Antonio Police Department around 4 p.m. on Friday which led deputies to a startling scene. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered a woman subjected to assault and distressingly wrapped in plastic.

Authorities share the harrowing details as they confirm the woman had been stabbed multiple times, badly beaten, and wrapped in plastic.

The investigation spanned through Saturday, which led officers to gain an arrest warrant against Roger Gonzalez, who was reportedly wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the assault. According to Sheriff Soward, Gonzalez was in a relationship with the victim and they were both from San Antonio.

Elsie Rangel, a neighbor for over two decades, expressed shock at the "horrible crime," condemning the disposal of the victim "like an animal or something."

Gratitude for Gonzalez's capture mingled with the relief that the victim, known to Rangel for years, remains alive. Court records unveil Gonzalez's criminal history in California, where he faced convictions related to drugs and weapons.

Currently incarcerated in Atascosa County Jail, Gonzalez initially faced a $40,000 bond, later replaced by a substantial $275,000 bond set by a judge. Meanwhile, the victim is in a serious but stable condition at a local hospital, grappling with the aftermath of this harrowing ordeal.
