A 1-year-old Texas boy was tragically killed when he was mauled to death by three large and vicious dogs. 

A TRAGIC AND MALICIOUS ATTACK

Tragedy struck Duncanville, Texas after a little boy was mauled to death by animals. Police received a call just before 11 am on Monday about a dog attack.

When police arrived they found a 1-year-old boy unconscious at his babysitter's home. According to Duncanville Police Chief Matthew Stogner, the dogs had been kept outside however, they unknowingly had made their way inside the home.

 "The dogs were outside. Somehow, they made their way back inside the house where the incident took place," Stogner said.

THE OWNER DESPERATELY TRIES TO FIGHT OFF THE DOGS

When all three dogs began attacking the infant, the owner desperately tried to fight them off. All three dogs were quite large, each weighing between 80-100 pounds. 

"The resident attempted to pull the dogs from the infant unsuccessfully until the officers got there."

Police say there were other children in the home at the time of the attack, however, no one else was injured. The 1-year-old was rushed to the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. Heartbreakingly, he later died from his injuries.

DECLARING THE ANIMALS DANGEROUS

All three dogs were in the custody of Duncanville Animal Control. According to procedure, if the owner does not surrender the dogs, the Duncanville Police Department will file with the court to have them declared dangerous. It’s unclear if they will be euthanized.
