The National Weather Service has an Extreme Cold Watch in effect from Saturday evening through Monday morning for the Victoria Crossroads and many nearby counties.

The National Weather Service is predicting dangerously cold weather; it’s possible for temperatures to drop as low as 7 degrees. If you live in the following counties, it’s best to bundle up: Victoria, Goliad, Calhoun, Bee, Refugio, Nueces, San Patricio, Kleberg, Jim Wells, Live Oak, Aransas, and more.

Friday: Breezy, cooler, and turning wet
Periods of rain are possible by the afternoon/evening
High: upper 70s | Low: upper 40s

Saturday: Ice risk increases — sleet/freezing rain possible
Cold, windy, and messy weather potential
High: upper 50s | Low: low 20s

Sunday: Wintry mix possible early + dangerously cold
Snow/sleet/freezing rain possible with slick roads on untreated surfaces
High: mid 30s | Low: mid teens

Monday: Sunny but still very cold
High: low 40s | Low:low 20s

The NWS is urging people to be extremely cautious and warns, “With wind chills that low, frostbite and hypothermia are likely if skin is exposed for too long.”
