Even though chaos inevitably erupts during spring break, that doesn't mean beaches aren't trying to prevent it. In fact, many Texas beaches have clear restrictions on certain types of activities that tend to lead to questionable decisions.
For example, here are some common restrictions and rules for many Texas beaches:
- Alcohol-Free Zones In the past, consumption and/or possession of alcoholic beverages during Spring Break was enforced during certain hours.
- No More Glass Containers Many Texas beaches have completely banned glass bottles.
- Curfews & Crowd Control Measures Police are cracking down on after-dark gatherings.
- Public Intoxication Drinking alcohol in popular Spring Break destinations like South Padre Island, is legal. However, being intoxicated to the point of endangering yourself or others is still a crime.
