The NBA restart kicked off this past Friday with the Spurs playoff hopes still alive.  The Spurs  have made the playoffs 22 consecutive years.  Entering Friday's NBA restart, the Spurs held a 27-36 record sitting in the 12 spot and those playoff hopes still alive.  How things can change in the matter of three days.

The Spurs took care of business over the weekend defeating the Sacramento Kings 129-100 on Friday night and also defeated the team they are chasing, the 8th seeded Memphis Grizzlies 108-106, this afternoon.  The San Antonio Spurs now sit in the 9th spot, just two games behind Memphis for the final playoff spot, with 6 games remaining in the NBA restart.

8. Memphis Grizzlies 32-35

9. San Antonio Spurs 29-36 2 GB

10. Portland Trailblazer 30-38 2.5 GB

The Spurs can make the playoffs by coming in the eight seed OR  by coming in the #9 seed, fewer than 4 games in the standings. Which would result in an play-in tournament that the Spurs would have to defeat the 8th seed two games in a row.

GO SPURS GO

The Houston Rockets currently sit at the 6 spot and the Dallas Mavericks at the 7 spot.  We could possibly see all three Texas NBA teams in the bubble for the NBA playoffs.
