As we shared yesterday, Trooper Walker was responding to a call of a vehicle in distress on Friday evening and when he arrived at the scene, Dearthur Pinson is said to have exited his vehicle and began firing into Trooper Walker's vehicle before it even came to a full stop. Walker was struck in the head and stomach and was taken to a hospital in Waco in critical condition. Texas DPS shared an update on Trooper Walker's condition on Monday.

The words “no longer displays signs of viable brain activity" hit hard indeed. Trooper Walker served the great state of Texas for several years. His family has elected to share the gift of life with others and has decided to keep the Trooper on life support until his organs can be donated to help others in need. A GoFundMe account has been created for his family and 4 children. More than $100,000 has been raised so far. Please donate if you can.

Chad Walker is the third Texas DPS Trooper to be killed in the line of duty in the Central Texas area since 2017. Our prayers go out to his family and friends in Central Texas and in the Coastal Bend area.
