Texas Parents Arrested After Hospital Makes Disturbing Discovery
A shocking case of child abuse has emerged in Texas, where a mother and father have been charged after their infant sustained a traumatic head injury under suspicious circumstances.
AN ENTIRE TEXAS HOUSEHOLD SICK
On May 21st, Jacobo Sanchez and Andrea Mena walked into Children's Hospital of San Antonio with their 4 children, complaining of stomach issues. The entire household was treated for their illness and sent home.
The same family returned to the hospital just days later on May 29th, however, this visit sparked some serious concerns. The family complained of continuous vomiting but when healthcare workers began to examine the 4-month-old infant, they noticed something troubling.
SECOND VISIT REVEALS SERIOUS CONCERNS
The baby had a bulging soft pot on her head and bulging eyes. As they continued to examine the child, they noted that she had not gained any weight since the last visit and appeared lethargic.
A CT scan revealed her brain was bleeding and determined her symptoms resulted from a head injury. One of the other siblings, a 4-year-old boy, confirmed investigators' suspicions when he revealed that he allegedly saw Jacobo throw the baby on the ground, causing her head to bleed.
MORE INFORMATION BEGINS TO FLOW IN
During the investigation, it was also revealed that Jacobo had been caring for the children at the time. Family members noticed changes in the baby's behavior and appearance during this period. Child Protective Services (CPS) was notified, and a care plan was established for the child and her three siblings.
The investigation also uncovered allegations of domestic abuse within the household.
Jacobo Sanchez has been charged with Injury to a Child- Serious Bodily Injury, and Andrea Mena has been charged with Endangering a Child.
