In Texas, Buc-ee’s has long ruled the road... until now. A small-town Texas company is quickly winning over a crucial group of travelers: truckers.

While Buc-ee’s is famous for its massive stores, clean bathrooms, and endless snack options, truckers are finding a new home at The Texan and they’re not looking back.

At first glance, The Texan may seem similar to Buc-ee’s with its spacious layout, hot food options, and spotless facilities. But there's a major difference that truckers say makes all the difference: The Texan welcomes them.

Why Truckers Are Turning Away from Buc-ee’s

Unlike Buc-ee’s, which firmly enforces a "No 18-Wheelers Allowed" policy, even reportedly escorting truckers off the property mid-shopping at some locations, The Texan proudly supports truck drivers. It offers a dedicated area for big rigs to fuel up, air up, and park.

What Truckers Are Saying About The Texan vs. Buc-ee’s

Reddit users have plenty of opinions when it comes to both gas stations but truckers have a clear preference.

One trucker on Reddit wrote:

"As a truck driver from Houston, I prefer The Texan because they won’t run me out."

A Reddit user with a simple clear-cut preference, "The Texan > buccees"

Another user wrote:

"Lmao, at least they actually treat truckers like me good. I can actually pull in there, get some good quality food, and the staff is always great.

It’s no Buc-ees clone. Its not this massive corporate/consumerist crap Buc-ees has turned into. You do realize that Buc-ees used to be small right?

The Texan is just a higher quality small truck stop. Some of them even have a diner part in them."
