If you are headed to Texas this summer, don't forget to rent a tube!

Because, if you haven't tubed in Texas, you haven't truly lived.

I've been thinking about this a lot today. I don't know a single Texan who hasn't tubed one of our many incredible Texas rivers. And, as I ponder this notion it might be because tubing in Texas might very well be the most Texas thing to do in Texas.

I mean, let's just revisit the featured image of this article!

River rats rule! You can keep your speed demon, wedgy-wielding, sky-high, water park rides. Just hand any Texan a tire tube and, it's time to float!

Funny side note, I was terrified of tubing when I was a little Texan. Something about the bottom of the river freaked me out.

But after I grew up? Oh honey bunny, you can't keep me out of the rivers! In fact, I've even been known to slap a bag on a river ride a time or two!

Of course, that's only when I'm on an all-girls trip and not with the kiddos!

For me, the best river to take my tube in Texas is hands down, San Marcos.

San Marcos water is cool but not bone chilling like the Frio, plus you can enter to float for free at San Marcus Park and there are small waterfalls to ride over and over again at the end of the river ride. Tubing San Marcos lasts on average an hour so you can ride it twice or three times in a single day.

Ready to tube?
