K9 Sparks Discovery of 100 Bundles of Cocaine in Small Texas City
A K9 sparked a massive drug bust in Victoria, Texas resulting in the discovery of 100 bundles of cocaine.
A tractor trailer was under investigation in Victoria when a K9 began sniffing around. The K9 hooked a scent and alerted it's officer about narcotics nearby.
According to a press release from Victoria County Sheriff's Office:
On Friday, September 6, 2024, members of the Crossroads HIDTA Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a truck-tractor traveling on highway 77 in Victoria County. During the traffic encounter, a K9 was utilized and alerted to the odor of narcotics on the truck-tractor. The truck-tractor was moved to a secure location off the roadway and a further search of the cargo continued.
Heavy equipment was necessary to access the contraband from its hidden compartment. The effort led to the seizure of 100 bundles of cocaine with a total weight of approximately 110 kilograms.The investigation is continuing with our partners with Homeland Security.
