Victoria Independent School District has had to make some changes to their meal distribution that will likely greatly effect how some families feed their children over the weekend.

VISD staff and volunteers have been relentless in their pursuit to work with families on assuring their education and basic needs have been met since the COVID-19 outbreak. However, due to changes in policy and regulations, changes specifically to food distribution and quantity have had to be made.

With Victoria's Stay Home- Stay Safe order now in effect the distribution schedule has had to be adjusted to reduce contact and exposure to COVID-19.

Beginning Monday April 6th, the Child Nutrition Schedule has changed to include a reduction in distribution days limited to twice a week, Monday and Thursdays only.

Monday will contain meals for breakfast and lunch to cover Monday through Wednesday only.

Thursday will contain meals to cover breakfast and lunch Thursday through Friday only.

Changes to the Texas Department of Agriculture rules no longer allow VISD to distribute food for the weekends.

This is arguably the biggest change that VISD has had to make and families needing food for their children over the weekend are encouraged to contact Christ Kitchen 578.4233 and VCAM at  572.0048

Points of Distribution have also changed, decreasing from 6 to 5 locations.

You can still pick up food at Aloe, Crain, Hopkins and Rowland Elementary from 9:30am to 12:30pm and Stroman Middle School from 9:30am to 1:00pm
