In true Willie Nelson style, he and his Luck Reunion team have reached out to President, Joe Biden for a very important subject.  He wants to declare April 20th a legitimate national marijuana holiday. Not only does he want to declare a National Holiday. He also wants to be the start of a nine-day celebration of cannabis.

As reported by KVUE in Austin. Nelson sent this petition to Congress and the President of the United States. "The fine people of Luck, Texas, and supporters of the great Willie Nelson, on behalf of cannabis users around the nation, are writing today to ask you to consider declaring the nine days spanning April 20 to April 29 an official national holiday: the 'High Holidays,' You can find the petition on change.org.

Willie Nelson closes out the petition with this quote. “I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is an herb and a flower. God put it here. If He put it here and He wants it to grow, what gives the government the right to say that God is wrong?"  At the time of this article, there is a total of 2,351 signatures on this petition.

Willie Nelson will celebrate his 88th birthday on April 29th and is hitting to road to start touring again. He will be busy starting in August. Including a show with Chris Stapleton in Arlington on August 21st.  You can catch Nelson right up the road in New Braunfels at the Whitewater Amphitheatre on October 8th and 9th.
