Bootfest 2021 has been canceled.

Victoria city officials and Bootfest coordinators have had to make the undoubtedly tough decision to cancel Bootfest 2021. We know it's for the safety of our community as a whole, but it was a bit of a bummer to learn that Bootfest has had to be canceled for the second year in a row.

It's the second year in a row that Bootfest has had to be canceled for safety concerns.

Here is the official announcement via Bootfest Facebook page.

Now the work ahead for all concerned will include having to contact everyone to let them know. The Explore Victoria Texas website which you can view here offers, " City of Victoria staff will be in communication with all vendors, sponsors, organizations, and all other related parties in relation to the 2021 event."

A little bit of Bootfest history.

Josh Abbott was the headliner for the first BootFest, which was held on October 21st and October 22nd, 2011. In addition to the two nights of live music, which was and continued to be free to the public, the festival featured a barbecue cook-off, a Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament, boot-making dem­onstrations, and an awesome kids' corral.

Well, we will keep our fingers crossed that 2022 brings back the BOOT!

Now are just waiting to hear if Turkeyfest 2021 will be canceled as well.

If all goes well and our COVID numbers go down, Turkeyfest will celebrate its, get this, 49th year as Cuero's premier community festival.
