Old Farmer’s Almanac Drops Victoria’s Christmas Outlook
If you’re waiting for a white, snowy Christmas this year, don’t hold your breath. The Old Farmer's Almanac released its Christmas Day predictions, and Texas weather is lacking a little Christmas cheer.
Winter in general is looking a bit dry in Texas, but more than that, it’s looking a little chaotic. December looks like a roller coaster of temperatures. First, its sunny, then it gets cold, then it dials back into warmer weather.

The highest chance of snowfall in South Texas was at the end of November. Although we did get a few drops of rain, nothing transformed into a flurry of snow.
So while we will likely have a very lukewarm Christmas, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Think about the snow we’ve had to deal with in the past, like during February of 2021.
Winter Storm Uri, a winter most of us will never forget.
It was cold, it was dangerous, it was miserable to say the least. Winter storm Uri took out more than the heat; it took Texas off the grid, quite literally, for weeks. The energy grid was so overworked that it caused a weeks-long power outage for many Texans.
It was also a deadly time in Texas and across the country. Many people died, and it wasn’t just directly related to a freeze. Unfortunately, people were pushed to desperate measures to stay warm, and some families made the fatal decision to heat their homes in dangerous ways.
Some families even brought indoor grills inside to stay warm, but the fumes created fatal conditions, and many lost their lives. It’s a time in history that was devastating, and thankfully, we will likely not experience anything even remotely close to that type of weather this Christmas.
