College Basketball Team to Wear Uniforms With Names of Fallen Troops
Veterans Day may be over, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop saluting our troops.
The Green Baby Phoenix will sport uniforms bearing the names of soldiers who died serving the US when they host Illinois-Springfield in its season opener on Saturday, which, not coincidentally is when the school hosts Military Appreciation Day. Each soldier has connections to Wisconsin.
It’s yet another classy move in a college basketball season that has already seen more than its fair share of emotional moments.
