Travel in Texas has been further restricted over the weekend as Gov. Greg Abbott continues to rachet up the response to Covid-19 in our state.  Abbott's order for a 14-day quarantine last week was for anyone traveling to Texas from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and New Orleans.

As of today, that travel order now includes anyone coming to Texas from Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, and anyone coming in from California or Washington. Anyone ignoring the 14-day quarantine will be subject to arrest by DPS Troopers, fines, and possible jail time. If you have family coming into Texas, best spread the word now.

Abbott has also announced the state of Texas will be setting up pop-up hospitals like the one at the Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas to help deal with the outbreak at the state level. The facility in Dallas is outfitted with 250 beds for patients in need.

News4SanAntonio.com is reporting that the Texas Department of State Health Services says as of Sunday there are 2,552 cases of Covid-19 in Texas. Of the 254 counties in the state, 118 have positive confirmed cases of coronavirus. DSHS says they have completed over 25,000 tests for Covid-19 so far.
