It was a big day for the state of Texas today as Governor Greg Abbott shared some new information about plans to reopen the parks and businesses of the Lone Star State. If you missed his press conference, you can watch it in the video above from Abbott's own twitter feed.

The good news is the plan is coming together to get people back to work and to allow us all a little bit of relief from being penned in at home. We are just days away from being able to visit a state park again, and just about two weeks away from the reopening of many businesses that had been closed nationwide to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Here is a closer look at some significant dates on Governor Abbott's timeline to reopen Texas. As of today's briefing, the Stay Home Stay Safe order for the state remains in place until May 1st.
