We've been pretty lucky for years during hurricane season here in the crossroads, but this year, we need to stay prepared and alert because forecasters are predicting a busy hurricane season.

Keep in mind that forecasters are usually wrong, but this year, they're predicting five to nine hurricanes, two to four of which at category three or better. Officials say the storms will have winds at a minimum of 75 mph while two four of the storms could have winds of at least 111 mph. Forecasters also say we can expect from eleven to seventeen tropical systems this season, which runs from June first to November 30th.
