Another Texas School District Moves to a 4-Day School Week

This appears to be a trend for many school districts in Texas. Hillsboro ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the district's move to a four-day school week for the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, March 5. Superintendent Dr. Darrell G. Brown The superintendent, Dr. Darrell G. Brown, says it is important for the school district to hire the most qualified teachers. However, since 2020, the number of highly qualified applicants has diminished. Brown says they hope that this new adoption will bring in more of those special applicants.

Texas Mom Arrested For Creating Malicious Drink for Son’s Bully

A Texas mom has been arrested for taking bullying matters into her own hands. According to abcnews.com Jennifer Lynn Rossi, 45, was arrested after a drink she made for her son's bully sent him to the hospital, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

WHAT DID THE DRINK HAVE IN IT?

Jennifer had mixed lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and Gatorade together in a sports bottle on Tuesday and told her son to give it to a classmate who had stolen his drink the day before at Legacy Traditional School in the San Antonio area. According to the report, shortly after the child consumed the drink, he reportedly began experiencing nausea and a headache and was taken to a hospital.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office stated that even though the contents of the drink were non-toxic, the incident resulted in a child being hospitalized,” The child was monitored for a short amount of time and then sent home. Read the full story here.

Texas Man Made $1.76 Million by Eavesdropping on Wife’s Work Calls

A Houston man made 1.76 million dollars because he overheard his work-from-home spouse talking business, and used that information to make over $1.7 million in an insider trading scheme, federal authorities said.

As reported by cbsnews.com Tyler Loudon, 42, pleaded guilty to securities fraud for buying and selling stocks based on details that he learned from his wife's business conversations while both were working from home. Loudon’s wife was an associate manager in mergers and acquisitions at an internationally-based oil and gas company. Loudon learned that her company was planning to purchase a travel center operator business.

Unbeknownst to his spouse, Loudon used the non-public information about the expected acquisition to purchase 46,450 shares ahead of the public notice. After the announcement of the merger, Loudon then sold his shares for a massive profit of $1.76 million. As part of his plea agreement, Loudon agreed to forfeit the $1.7 million in illegal proceeds, according to a press release.
