Young Woman Dies After Argument With Father in Texas
Lucy Harrison was supposed to be packing for the airport. Instead, she never made it out of her father’s house.
On January 10, 2025, the 23-year-old was visiting her father, Kris Harrison, in Prosper, Texas. Earlier that day, the two had argued, reportedly about politics and Donald Trump. Sam Littler, Lucy’s boyfriend, shared a shocking detail about the argument.
Littler said Lucy asked her father, "How would you feel if I were the girl in that situation and I'd been sexually assaulted?" Shockingly, Kris responded that he had two other daughters who lived with him, so it would not upset him that much. Lucy ran upstairs, visibly upset.
About 30 minutes before Lucy and her boyfriend planned to leave to the airport, her father grabbed her hand and led her downstairs to his bedroom. Moments later, a gunshot rang out, and Lucy was dead.
Littler recounted the moment: "I remember running into the room and Lucy was lying on the floor near the entrance to the bathroom and Kris was just screaming, just sort of nonsense."
Her father claims Lucy asked to see his gun. He says that when he took the Glock from his bedside drawer, it mysteriously went off, shooting her in the chest. Kris, who’s been described as a “functioning alcoholic,” admitted he had been drinking wine that day.
"As I lifted the gun to show her, I suddenly heard a loud bang. I did not understand what had happened. Lucy immediately fell,” Kris Harrison explained.
Texas prosecutors never filed charges after a grand jury declined to indict him. For many, however, there was more to the story.
Nearly a year later, a UK coroner ruled Lucy’s death an unlawful killing by gross negligence manslaughter, saying the gun had to be pointed directly at Lucy and the trigger pulled without checking if it was loaded, calling the actions at the very least, reckless.
There have still be no criminal charges filed.
