After what we might kindly look back and call our state's six-month' staycation', it's time for Texans to get out again and explore what makes this state, the Great State of Texas.

But if you're like me, you're just getting out and realizing everything is already booked. Double booked. Triple booked. No rooms available for at least the next three months?!?!

It's time to go camping in Texas y'all! There are plenty of camping spots and beautiful landscapes within a few hours' drive from Victoria and best of all, there is room for you and your family. All you need is a tent and a willing crew. AND YES, of course, I only picked camping sites close to water!

Now keep in mind most campsites are going to have specific requirements like small group limitations ( but this usually does not include family household size) but they aren't going to be overcrowded with long waiting hours. Get out Victoria and CAMP!

Here are our TOP FIVE CAMPING SITES CLOSE TO VICTORIA

Five Great Camping Spots in Texas

These are some of the most beautiful parks close enough to Victoria not to take the entire day to drive, but far enough away to feel like you've taken an adventure. For a complete list of parks in Texas, click here.

Be sure to check the availability and rules of camping at each park before you go. Reservations are now likely required even for "primitive camping" in tents.

We'd love to know if you're going to camp this holiday weekend and if so where you and your family ended up camping in Texas!
