Victoria is cleaning up after Hurricane Harvey, and a lot of progress has been made. There were lots of tree limbs and other yard debris all over the place, and the city of Victoria has been and in continuing to pass through neighborhoods picking it all up.

In an effort to complete the task, the City has announced the closing of Red River Street to through traffic between Laurent Street and Ben Jordan Street for tree debris pick-up between 10 am and 2 pm  tomorrow (Thursday, September 14.) The street will re-open to one-way eastbound traffic once the limbs are picked up.

Please note the side streets on the north side of Red River will remain closed. Temporary driveways will be installed for residents or businesses with access only to Red River Street.

Your best bet is to avoid the area during that time and if you do have to use that street, use caution.
