Running out of ideas for the kids?

It's the dog days of summer and usually by this time I'm running out of ideas for activities for the kiddos. On a side note, one of the coolest things about being a grandma is that all of the DIY and cooler cheap things I did for my kids growing up are all NEW tricks for them. Old dog, new tricks.

Picnics

I can't explain it but enjoying food outdoors has always been something I have loved, so much so that we have an outdoor dining area of sorts at the ranch. On super hot days, you can just recreate it in an obscure place in the house, like a closet just to add interest. Seeds are inexpensive and you can pretty much plant a garden in anything. We have a large garden which during the summer is HELL to the O so we opt to care for our container gardens along the covered porch or we check out the Victoria Farmer's Market on Saturdays! Did you know we have an educational garden right at the Victoria Regional Airport? Yep, it's a great gem in our community that often gets overlooked and admission is free!
