Finally, the Despicable Me trilogy will be concluded. Until Despicable Me 4. Which I’m sure we’ll see soon enough; the first two Despicables plus the spinoff Minions earned more than $2.6 billion worldwide. People just love despicable cartoons, and also sentient Twinkees that talk in gibberish. That’s just the way it goes.
This larger-than-life story will form the basis of The Battle of the Sexes, a planned film with Emma Stone and Steve Carell in the starring roles. Variety reported on Stone’s involvement with the picture late last night, confirming that the star of Easy A and Aloha would replace Brie Larson (who had to drop out to star in The Glass Castle) for the Billie Jean King part.

Here's some news we never expect to report today... Warner Bros. is planning a spinoff of their classic Looney Tunes franchise that would be based on Acme Corp. - the company which Wile E. Coyote and others use to buy their anvils, dynamite and earthquake pills - and would Steve Carell. And, before you ask, no, there won't actually be any Looney Tunes characters in the movie. Huh?
