Remember These? Beloved Victoria, Texas Businesses We’ll Never Stop Calling “The Old…”
(VICTORIA, Texas) - Every town has those places that never really disappear. You know exactly what I'm talking about. You're giving someone directions and instead of saying what's there today, you catch yourself saying, "Turn where Hastings used to be," or "It's across from the old Dunlaps." If you grew up in Victoria, you've probably done it more times than you can count.

While the Crossroads continues to grow with new restaurants, stores, and neighborhoods, there are some businesses that remain woven into the city's identity long after their doors closed. Some were where we rented movies on Friday nights. Others were where we shopped for school clothes, picked up concert tickets, grabbed seafood after church, or simply spent time with family and friends.
A Facebook post from Victoria resident Andrew Schiavone sparked a wave of nostalgia, with longtime residents sharing memories of businesses they still miss today. It quickly turned into a reminder of just how much Victoria has changed over the years, while proving that some places never really leave our memories.

Why These Victoria Businesses Are Still Remembered
Many of these businesses closed years, or even decades, ago. Some of their buildings have found new life with different owners, while others have been demolished or completely transformed.
Yet for many longtime Victoria residents, those addresses will probably always be known by the businesses that came before.
That's one of the things that makes living in a community like Victoria so unique. The buildings may change, but the memories attached to them don't.
